Martine Kropkowski is a Meanjin/Brisbane-based writer who has worked as a soldier, a journalist and an academic. Her research centres on deconstructed crime narratives, and her essays and short fiction appear in journals such as Griffith Review, The Conversation, Overland and Crackle Anthology.

Martine teaches professional and creative writing at The University of Queensland as well as in the community, and she is a regular speaker and in-conversation partner at literary events.

Martine's debut novel Everywhere We Look has been shortlisted for a Ned Kelly Award, and her new novel Left Behind is available to pre-order now.
